Abstract

The secondary processing is an activity that generates large amounts of waste such as wood shavings, sawdust and wood chips. The accumulation of these wastes, if not treated properly, can compromise the environmental impacts from causing damage difficult to repair and therefore need to be properly targeted and managed. The objective of this study was to measure the waste generated in a carpentry shop in the southern state of Piaui. To obtain an overall average of each residue data were collected weekly for a
period of 3 months. According to the results, it was found that after 12 weeks of observations, the volume of Maravalha was statistically higher than the wood chips and saw dust.
