Abstract

We will show a little bit of the technique used to treat astro pictures leading the study of some celestial objects like binary and variable stars, open clusters, planets and even galaxies. Well defined astro photos allow us to an accurate analysis of some properties like diameter, distance (parallax) and magnitude (brightness). As an application example, pictures from Venus, Jupiter and Saturn were used to estimate their respective diameters and distance from the Earth.
