Abstract

The use of CT imaging in dentistry is continually being expanded especially after the consolidation of the techniques of dental implants as important technique for planning and evaluating dental prosthesis. The Cone Beam Computed Tomography, CBCT, appeared in dental radiology as a revolutionary technique and established himself as a radiological imaging modality that has advantages, in terms of visualization of structures, compared with intra-oral radiography and panoramic radiography. The CBCT technique is currently considered as a low dose tomographic technique when confronted with conventional tomography applied to dentistry. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effective dose values for CBCT acquisition of different protocols using the database of the NRPB SR250.
