Abstract

The results presented and discussed in this study come from the didactic sequence (DS) developed in the research “The Use of Active Methodologies in Science Teaching and Learning: a proposal for a Didactic Sequence on Human Reproduction in the Marajoara Amazonian context”. The objective of this study was to analyze the contributions of a didactic sequence for the learning of human reproduction for students of the 8th grade of elementary school in a public school in Marajó Island. This study is an action research carried out in a public school in the municipality of Soure/PA, whose data were collected through participant observation and pre and post DS tests applied in the classroom at the beginning and end of the developed DS. The results indicate that the DS proved to be a facilitating strategy for students' cognitive development in relation to the concepts of Human Reproduction.
