Abstract

The bone mineral density measurement, called bone densitometry can be realized on X rays machine withlow-energy photons. Bone densitometry is used to compare an individual's bone to an absolute referencevalue. The aim of this work is thus to test a possibility of measuring the absorbed doses in bone densitometryexams. For this propose one manufactured phantom using CaSO4:Dy TLDs was developed and tested tosimulate adults spine lumbar. The results indicated that simulators prepared with low cost materials can beused as phantoms in quality control and in the dosimetric procedures in bone densitometry
