The main source of antibiotic residues in milk originates from the improper management of drugs in control of mastitis, metritis or other infectious disease, as well as result of the treatment at the beginning of the dry period to control mastitis. The widespread use of antibiotics by farmers, indiscriminately, have contributed to the presence of these residues. This study aimed to evaluate the occurrence of residues antibiotics in fresh milk in receiving settlement with the Federal Inspection Service platform. Analyses were performed from March 2013 to February 2014, in the reception dairy under Federal Inspection platform. 235,393 liters of milk were analyzed using detection kits Eclipse 50 and BetaStar Combo waste. It was observed that the occurrence of antibiotic residues fluctuated with a resultant increase, with an average of approximately 20,000 liters / month over that period. The occurrence found is probably the antibiotic widely used, especially in the treatment of mastitis. The indiscriminate use of veterinary drugs and without respecting the grace period. the results obtained in this study indicate the need for monitoring. Standards to ensure quality and safety of milk, you need an integration between producers, the beneficiary industries and the health authorities.
