Abstract

This paper presents the strategy of teaching thermodynamics under a new theme for undergraduates, aiming at the incorporation of the concept of the arrow of time as a resource to aid learning. Initially, classes were taught in the traditional model, and subsequently taught classes with the new theme in order to be analyzed by the students both forms. This methodology was used in two classes in the course of Production Engineering, Faculty of Business Sergipe in 2010/2. After this step, a questionnaire was applied to investigate the acceptance level of the students and their learning. The results showed that the understanding of the discipline in question has been improved in that time that addressed the thermodynamics and entropy and the arrow of time.
