Termites are an important component of the fauna in different regions and due to their preference for food cellulosic material, the need arises for their control. Among the techniques has the Modifier atmosphere. The collections belonging to the Museum of Man Sergipano has been constantly attacked by termites and control strategy of these insects, we evaluated the technique of modified atmosphere. Initially made up a screening in the museum's collection, the pieces that were under attack by termites and could be subjected to treatment. The termite was identified as Cryptotermes brevis, being selected 20 pieces of the collection to be treated by the technique of modified atmosphere, using two 200 liter drums and cupincida Gastoxin ®, Aluminum Phosphide base. After treatment it was found that the mortality rate reached 100% in all parts. Thus, the dose of three tablets per 200 liter vessel, the Gastoxin ® showed effectiveness.
