Abstract

The structure of the mangrove forest was analyzed by the method of multiple parcels, distributed observing the tidal inundation gradient in a total of 13. In the estuary the species found were: Avicennia schaueriana, Avicennia germinans, Laguncularia racemosa, Rhizophora mangle and Conocarpus erectus. Considering the strata analyzed and the inclusion criteria (individuals> 1 m) the average height of forests ranged from 4.34 to 8.36 m, DBH mean 4.59 to 8.66 cm, the basal area of living 3.23 to 19.63 m2.ha-1 and the density of living stems from 766.66 to 3175.00 troncos.ha-1. The results showed that the registration tensor contributes to the differentiation between the strata and the mangrove forest of Costinha has a low degree of structural development in relation to other mangroves in the state of Sergipe in the Brazil.
